大花挖耳草（Pinguicula grandiflora）自生於西歐洲（愛爾蘭、法國西部、西班牙北部等）的高山濕地和岩場。如同種名grandiflora（大花）所示，在挖耳草屬中其花朵最大，鮮豔的紫色至青紫色花朵十分美麗。春季開放類似紫羅蘭的大型花朵。耐寒性極強，即使在歐洲寒冷地區也能自生。肉厚的綠葉上密生腺毛，可捕捉果蠅等小昆蟲。栽培時使用濕潤的水苔單獨或砂加珍珠岩，管理為常濕至略乾燥狀態。使用純水或雨水。喜歡明亮的間接光至弱直射光。冬季轉變為休眠葉，可在室外越冬。因為需要冬季寒冷，即使在溫帶氣候地區也能進行室外管理的罕見挖耳草。
