日本傘松（高野槇）是日本傘松科日本傘松屬的常綠針葉樹，作為日本特有屬和特有種自生於本州中部山地地帶（高野山、木曾、吉野等）。作為日本特有種，在世界上以一屬一種的稀有植物身份具有很高的學術價值。葉片寬闊扁平、呈線形，20〜30片以獨特的輪狀放射方式展開（實際上是短枝束集而成）。葉表面光澤感強、呈深綠色，背面有白色氣孔帶。在高野山，據傳弘法大師（空海）鍾愛日本傘松，被尊為用於神事和佛事的神聖樹木。在盆景中，獨特的葉形與放射狀展開的枝條之美格外卓越，常綠樹全年可供欣賞。生長極其緩慢，經過長期精心培養的老木具有沉穩高雅的氣質。栽培方面喜好日照充足至半陰環境，夏季高溫乾燥需特別留意。澆水宜充分給予，避免乾燥。植物移栽每3〜5年進行一次，春季最為適合。
