Sarracenia Leucophylla key facts

Growing Difficulty
Intermediate
Lifespan
10+ years
Size
40-80cm
Watering
Insects (auto-capture)
Light & Placement
Full sun is essential; in low light the white upper pitchers fail to color. Keep it outdoors in full sun to bring out the autumn display.
Watering
Tray-water to keep it constantly moist, using only pure or rain water. Tap-water minerals weaken the plant, so avoid them.
Soil & Repotting
Use pure sphagnum or peat moss with perlite. Do not fertilize; when the rhizomes crowd the pot, divide and repot.
Dormancy Care
Winter dormancy with outdoor frost is the key to long-term success. The top dies back, but the rhizome lives and resprouts in spring.
Pruning & Shaping
Pitchers reach 40-80 cm. Keep the finest autumn pitchers and cut browned old ones at the base to improve airflow.
