Aerides key facts

Growing Difficulty
Intermediate
Lifespan
10+ years
Size
20-50cm
Temperature
18〜32℃
Light & Placement
Like Vanda types, it prefers strong light. Grow it hanging with the aerial roots exposed, in a bright, well-ventilated spot.
Watering
With the aerial roots exposed it dries out quickly, so daily misting or watering to wet the roots thoroughly is essential.
Temperature & Overwintering
The ideal range is 18-32°C in a hot, humid environment. Keep it in a warm room over winter and avoid cold and dryness.
Soil & Repotting
It is normally grown without media in a basket or hanging pot with the roots in the air. Repot as little as possible to avoid root damage.
Fertilizer
Ample light and moisture are the key to flowering, so feed regularly with diluted liquid fertilizer along with watering to build up the plant.
