Dracula Orchid key facts

Growing Difficulty
Advanced
Lifespan
10+ years
Size
15-30cm
Temperature
8〜20℃
Light & Placement
Native to highland cloud forest, it needs only low light. Avoid direct sun and keep it in bright shade with good airflow.
Watering
Never let the sphagnum dry out; keep it constantly moist. Humidity of 80% or more is ideal, so mist as well.
Temperature & Overwintering
It needs 8-20°C, ideally below 15°C. It is extremely heat-sensitive, so summer heat is a bigger problem than winter.
Soil & Repotting
Basket culture in sphagnum moss is the norm. Plant it so the pendulous flower stems can emerge outside the container.
Pests & Cautions
In Japan, air conditioning is a must in summer. Even at high humidity, stagnant air harms the plant, so always ensure ventilation.
