文心兰（Oncidium）是分布在中南美为中心的热带和亚热帯美洲、约370种的兰科大属。着生在从墨西哥到中美洲、加勒比海、北阿根廷的热带雨林和干燥岩地，长有假球茎和硬革质叶片。细长的花茎上分生出众多小花，舞蹈般盛开，因此得到"跳舞女郎兰"（Dancing Lady Orchid）的英文名称。花色以黄色为基调，具有褐色和红色的斑纹，唇片特别大而显眼。花期因种类而异，从春季到秋季不等。管理喜好明亮的间接光，适应高温多湿的环境。温度需保持在最低15℃以上，用树皮和水苔进行植栽。生长期需要充分浇水，秋至冬季保持略干，给予温度差可促进花芽分化。杂交种类丰富，作为初学者也容易管理的洋兰而在世界各地受欢迎。
