布纹球

形如棒球的球形多肉植物。外形似仙人掌，但属大戟科，分类上完全不同的植物。寿命为多年生（数十年）。成体大小5～15厘米。基本无需特殊照料。

肥皂球（大戟属肥皂球）是大戟科大戟属的多肉植物，原产于南非开普州北部的沙砾地。株体呈完美球形至圆柱形，似棒球，带有8～12条纵向棱线和棕绿相间的条纹，外观极其美观。外形酷似仙人掌，但属大戟科，分类上完全不同。成体直径约5～15厘米，生长极其缓慢。雌雄异株，春季从株顶开出小花（杯状花序）。由于原产地野生个体被大量采集，野生种已被列为濒危物种（华盛顿公约附录II）。浇水需要非常节制，生长期（春～秋）也仅每月浇1～2次，冬季基本断水。喜欢直射阳光，但对突然的环境变化敏感。乳液有毒，受伤时避免用手直接接触。可以用实生种增殖，但需要成对的雌雄株。
