象牙宮

象牙宮是馬達加斯加特有種，自生於該島西南部的石灰岩乾旱地帶。以「格拉西利斯」之名在日本也廣為人知的塊莖植物界人氣種。莖部球形～梨形，明顯肥大，銀灰色光澤表皮上佈滿短刺。塊根內蓄積大量水分和養分，以度過極端乾季。葉片細長橢圓形，具光澤，生長期集中著生於枝梢。花黃色五瓣，春～初夏開花。生長極為緩慢，成為大株需要數十年。管理須充足直射日光，日照不足會導致徒長及塊根衰弱。用土以赤玉土、日向土、輕石為主的超高排水性配方為基礎。生長期澆透，冬季（休眠期）完全停止澆水。耐寒性低，10℃以下需室內管理。因其獨特造型與希少性，成為塊莖植物收集的代表性存在。
