祈禱蘭（Maranta leuconeura）原產於巴西熱帶雨林，為竹芋科多年生草本植物。夜間葉片立起並閉合，因其祈禱般的姿態而得名「祈禱蘭」。葉面具有紅色或褐色的紋樣，葉背呈紅紫色，裝飾性極強。明亮的間接光最為適宜，直射陽光會導致葉色褪淡。植株怕乾燥，宜保持土壤略濕。對自來水中的氯敏感，建議使用晾曬或過濾後的水。經常噴霧葉面可保持葉片健康。理想的栽培環境為高濕度（50～70%）。生長緩慢，橫向擴展，適合放在桌面或架子上展示。兼具卡拉提亞的優雅外觀，卻比較易於養護，深受初學者歡迎。
