A physiological disorder in which leaves and stems of tropical or subtropical foliage plants discolor and soften when exposed to temperatures well below their tolerance range. It commonly occurs due to winter management errors.
主要症狀
- Leaves may darken, soften, and take on a water-soaked appearance
- Discoloration and dieback may begin at leaf margins and tips
- Stems may become soft and the whole plant may wilt
- Damaged tissue does not recover and may dry out and fall off
主要原因
- Placement near windows or entryways exposed to cold drafts in winter
- Rapid temperature drops overnight when heating is off
- Sudden transfer from a warm environment to a cold one
- Root chilling stress from watering with very cold tap water
預防（栽培環境與日常管理）
Learn the minimum cold tolerance of each plant species and keep them in locations where temperatures stay above 10 °C in winter. Avoid placing plants near cold drafts from windows or directly in heating airflow, and use room-temperature water for watering.
