Root Rot
🔎 依症狀查找
關於這種疾病
A physiological disorder in which roots suffocate and decay due to overwatering or poor drainage, causing overall plant decline. It is considered one of the most common problems affecting foliage and rare plants.
主要症狀
- Leaves may yellow and wilt or soften
- The stem base may turn brown to black and become mushy
- Roots may turn dark brown and emit a foul odor
- New growth may halt and overall plant vigor may decline
主要原因
- Watering too frequently or applying excessive amounts at once
- Use of poorly draining soil or containers without drainage holes
- Insufficient light slowing soil dryout
- Root-bound conditions reducing aeration and drainage
預防(栽培環境與日常管理)
Water only after the topsoil has dried, giving a thorough soak until water drains from the bottom, then promptly emptying the saucer. Using well-draining soil and ensuring adequate light and airflow helps prevent root rot.
