Insects
Temperature & Overwintering
An ultra-highland species grown at 8-20°C. It needs days at 18-22°C and nights at 5-12°C, making it extremely difficult.
Pests & Cautions
Declines rapidly in heat. Without air conditioning or a cooling system to guarantee cold nights, long-term culture is unlikely.
Watering
Keep the sphagnum moist with pure or rain water and maintain high humidity. In cool conditions it dries slowly, so avoid overwatering.
Soil & Repotting
Pure sphagnum moss is standard. Pot loosely for aeration and repot as little as possible to avoid damaging the roots.
Light & Placement
Likes bright light, but heating from direct sun must be avoided. Keep it shaded, cool, and well ventilated.
