Paphiopedilum Insigne key facts

Growing Difficulty
Beginner-friendly
Lifespan
10+ years
Size
20-35cm
Light & Placement
Place it in bright partial shade. It grows naturally on mountain forest floors and rocks, so avoid direct sun and give it soft light.
Watering
Water to keep the medium evenly moist. Never let it dry out completely, but do not keep it soggy either.
Temperature & Overwintering
It is fairly cold-tolerant, down to about 5°C. Very tough and easy to grow, it has long been a beginner's favorite.
Soil & Repotting
Pot in sphagnum moss or bark. Replace the medium once it breaks down and drainage worsens.
Pests & Cautions
Water pooling in the leaf axils causes rot, so make sure none remains after watering. Also ensure good air movement.
