大猪笼草（Nepenthes maxima）自生于印度尼西亚的苏拉威西岛和新几内亚等地。具有多样的捕虫笼形状和色彩变异，颜色从绿色到红色再到紫色，个体差异丰富。适应从中高度到高山的广泛海拔环境，栽培适温为15～30℃左右。相对强健，但需采用介于高地种和低地种之间的混合栽培管理。基质以水苔为主，湿度保持在60～80%。生长速度略缓，但养护得当时会形成众多有气势的捕虫笼。由于色彩变异丰富，在收集者中也很受欢迎。
