卡特莱亚（Cattleya）是分布在哥斯达黎加至阿根廷一带的中南美热带・亚热帯兰科的代表性属。生于热带雨林树木上，具有粗厚的假球茎和1～2片革质叶片。花朵特别硕大豪华，花径可达10～20厘米。花色多样，包括白色、粉红色、紫色、黄色、橙色和复合色，唇瓣上褶皱状的装饰华美突出，许多品种散发浓郁的香气。栽培需要明亮的间接光，直射日光会导致叶片灼伤。最低温度应保持15℃以上，用树皮、轻石等排水性好的基质种植。生长期（春～秋）要充分供水和肥料，假球茎充实后花芽会萌出。与莱利亚、布拉萨沃拉等相近属的属间杂交很常见，流通着众多杂交品种。因其豪华而芬芳的花朵而被誉为"西洋兰女王"。
