中间卡特莱娅（Cattleya intermedia）是分布于巴西南部（圣保罗～南大河州）岩石和树木上的附生原种兰花。株高为20～40厘米，具有二叶性假球茎。花径8～13厘米，白色至淡粉红、薰衣草色的花瓣配以粉红至紫色的唇瓣，花色艳丽，每株可开放2～6朵花。花期为春至初夏（南半球为10～12月，日本地区为4～6月）。该种的最大特点是色彩变异极其丰富，存在斑纹型（阿奎尼型）、蓝色型（蓝紫型）、白化型（纯白）、蓝色型等多种色彩变异。栽培管理喜好相对凉爽（12～30℃）的环境，需要明亮的间接光照和树皮、轻石等基质混植。冬季控水可促进花芽分化。因色彩变异丰富而在兰花收藏家中特别受欢迎。
