卡特兰·马克西马（Cattleya maxima）是分布在厄瓜多尔和秘鲁太平洋沿岸山地的附生兰花，如其名"最大的卡特兰"一样，具有大花和多花的特征的原种卡特兰。植株高30～60厘米，具有单叶细长的伪鳞茎。花径为10～14厘米，淡紫色至浓紫色的唇瓣美丽，花瓣呈淡紫色至白色。唇瓣上有放射状的紫色条纹，褶皱丰富。每个花梗上开5～15朵花。花期主要在秋～冬（10～2月），具有甘甜的香气。管理需要明亮的间接光线和12～28℃的温度。使用树皮和轻石植入以保持良好排水，生长期间供应水和肥料，夏～秋的略干燥管理可促进花芽分化。
