白星花（雪草、西方雪下）是茜草科白星花属常绿～半常绿灌木，原生于印度和东南亚开放的亚热带林地和湿地草原。学名为Serissa japonica，但原产地实际为东南亚。春至秋季，在绿叶上次第开放白色或淡粉色的小花。叶片小而有光泽，全年保持美丽的绿色。根和枝被损伤时会散发独特的恶臭（硫黄味），因此也被称为"腐烂树"，这是管理中应知的特性。在盆栽中，小花次第开放的可爱性和细致分支的紧密性是其受欢迎的原因。在世界各地人气很高，特别是在欧美和东南亚盆栽爱好者中广泛普及。管理上喜光到半阴环境，也可室内管理。浇水怕干燥，应在表土干燥前充分浇水。耐寒性较弱，应保持5℃以上。换盆每2～3年一次，春季最合适。
