垂柳

垂柳是柳科柳属的落叶乔木，原产于中国，据说在奈良时代左右传入日本。细长的垂枝上密密地生着细叶，作为点缀水边景色的树木，在日本、中国和欧洲都受到喜爱。春天的新芽呈黄绿色，是绿色最柔和美丽的季节。秋天会变成黄色并红叶。作为"杨柳"在佛教美术中也有登场，观音菩萨也被描绘成手持柳枝的形象。在盆景中，优雅下垂的枝条是最大的魅力，通过悬崖式或丛生式来最大限度地展现其美丽。水景盆景或水边造景方式也很受欢迎。管理方面生长非常旺盛，通过定期修剪来控制枝条长度是一个课题。喜欢阳光和水，浇水要充足，不耐干燥。换盆每年或2年一次，在春天进行时整理根部。
