Spider Mites

关于这种疾病
Spider mites (Tetranychus spp. and related species) parasitize the undersides of leaves, feeding on cell contents. They proliferate rapidly in hot, dry conditions and, if left untreated, cause foliage to appear bleached and eventually drop, leading to overall plant decline.
主要症状
- Numerous white stipples appear on leaf surfaces, giving the foliage a bleached, hazy appearance
- Tiny reddish-brown mites and fine webbing are visible on the undersides of leaves
- As the infestation progresses, leaves turn yellow and drop
- New leaves near the growing point may be stunted or deformed
主要原因
- Hot, dry conditions (particularly common after the rainy season ends in summer)
- Poorly ventilated environments prone to heat buildup
- Transfer of mites from other plants or surrounding areas
- Insufficient regular observation leading to delayed detection
预防(栽培环境与日常管理)
Regularly inspect the undersides of leaves for early detection. Maintain moderate humidity and prevent prolonged hot, dry conditions. Ensure good air circulation and avoid overcrowding plants. Quarantine newly acquired plants for a period before placing them alongside existing plants.
