栒子属蔷薇科常绿至半常绿灌木，分布于古北界（欧洲至东亚）。春季白色或淡粉红色小花密集开放，秋冬季节红至橙红色小果实布满枝头。枝条呈匍匐性生长，秋冬季节长期宿存红果是其主要特征。作为盆栽，纤细的枝条与鲜艳的红色果实形成优美对比，是秋冬季节的观赏佳品。其匍匐特性适合用于悬崖式或半悬崖式造型。小叶品种易于形成致密枝条，经年培养可展现苍老意韵。管理要点：喜充足光照，光照不足会影响结果。浇水应在表土干燥后浇透，避免过湿。修剪在花后和冬季休眠期进行，赏果后进行整形。换盆周期为2-3年，春季为最佳时期。
