血红猪笼草（Nepenthes sanguinea）原产于马来半岛（马来西亚·泰国南部）的山岳地带，属中间地性猪笼草。种名"sanguinea"源自拉丁文，意为"血红色"，个体间色彩变异丰富，有些会全身呈红色至橙色。栽培中色彩表现因光照和温度而大幅波动。属中间地性至高地性，栽培适温约15〜28℃。坚强易养，作为高地性猪笼草的入门种在初级至中级养殖者中颇受欢迎。基质以水苔为主，维持湿度60〜80%。昼夜温差有利于瓶状体形成和发色稳定。流通量相对较多，易于获得。
