波斯韦利亚·内格雷克塔是橄榄科植物，自生于埃塞俄比亚、肯尼亚和索马里的干旱地带，是采集乳香树脂的乳香属植物之一。白至灰白色的树皮剥落，呈现独特的表皮质感，这是其最大的特征。因其白色树干的美感，在塊根植物爱好者中人气不断上升。树干粗壮肥大，具有独特的分枝方式。叶片为复叶，在生育期萌发，干季时落叶。受伤时会渗出芳香的树脂。生长缓慢，成为大株需要多年时间。管理需喜好直射日光，适合使用超排水性用土。浇水在生育期适度供给，冬季完全停止浇水。耐高温干燥，但不耐低温和过湿，因此日本冬季需要室内管理。加上其与乳香树脂的文化关联，近年特别受到关注。
