圣玛丽亚角欧弗尔比亚自生于马达加斯加最南端圣玛丽亚角周边的石灰岩地带，是稀有的大戟属植物。最大特征是具有独特的波状叶，叶缘不规则地呈波浪状。从扁平至球形的块根中长出多条茎，茎上着生这种特征性的叶。花小而不显眼。伤口处会流出有毒的白色乳液。生长极为缓慢。自生地分布极其狭窄、个体数量极少，栽培品也十分稀有。养护管理应提供明亮直射光至间接光，采用超排水性用土。浇水以控制为原则，冬季需断水。耐寒性低，需在10℃以上的室内管理。因其独特的波状叶和极其有限的自生地稀有性，在马达加斯加产大戟中具有特别高的稀有价值。
