Aquatic Plants

A hydrogen sulfide odor (rotten egg smell) may be detected from the substrate

Algae adhere to glass surfaces, driftwood, and rocks, reducing visibility

Damage tends to progress after lights go off or during nighttime hours

Irregular holes or missing sections are visible on the leaves

Leaf count decreases rapidly without new growth appearing

Leaf count drops rapidly, leaving only stems and roots
