About
Pothos 'Global Green' was bred by Hiroaki Asaoka of Asaoka Engei in Anjo, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. According to the breeder, it was created through more than three years of repeated selection from a sport of the white-variegated 'Marble Queen', and combines the vigour of common golden pothos with the cold tolerance of 'N'Joy'; it was released in 2020. The breeder gives its plant variety application number as 34368, and Japan's plant variety database lists that application as Registration No. 29428, 'Asaoka Second' (registered November 2022, rights in force). The registered description—ovate, acuminate leaves with central variegation in two colours—matches its dark green leaves blotched with lime green through the middle. It is distinguished from golden pothos (yellow streaks) and the white 'Marble Queen' and 'N'Joy' by the colour of its variegation, and from the all-lime 'Neon' by its dark green ground colour. The registration lists the species as Epipremnum pinnatum, reflecting the former treatment of pothos as a cultivar of E. pinnatum. In Japan it is a popular new cultivar sold widely by houseplant shops and online.

Light & Placement
Bright indirect light. It tolerates low light, but variegation fades in dim spots. Direct sun scorches the leaves.
Watering
Let the mix dry between waterings, then water thoroughly. Constantly wet soil causes root rot and blackened leaf edges. Water less in winter when growth slows.
Temperature & Overwintering
The breeder describes it as cold-tolerant, but it is still a tropical pothos; keep it in a warm room in winter.
Soil & Repotting
Use a well-drained mix. Given a support to climb with its aerial roots, it tends to produce larger leaves; it is also commonly grown trailing from hanging pots.
