Nepenthes 'Lady Luck' is a pitcher plant selected from a cross between N. ampullaria and N. ventricosa. Retailers describe it as chosen as the best of thousands of seedlings in the breeding programme of Borneo Exotics, a carnivorous plant nursery in Sri Lanka. The pitchers turn a deep blood red all over. Internodes are short and it produces many basal shoots, forming a dense clump. Retailers class it as an intermediate hybrid with wide temperature tolerance, and from N. ampullaria it inherits tolerance of wet soil; its roots are said to grow even when submerged. It pitchers readily in modest light and grows quickly, so it is treated as a beginner's houseplant. Overseas retailers commonly treat it as the same clone as 'Bloody Mary', with the two names used in different markets. Neither name, however, appears in the International Carnivorous Plant Society (ICPS) register, so this cannot be confirmed from an official record. In Japan it is regularly sold in hanging baskets at mass-market shops and online.
