Fine marginal teeth line the leaf edges. Mature rosettes reach around 40–70 cm tall. It is a rare species with limited availability, often commanding premium prices when it does appear in cultivation. Growth is slow. Full sun is preferred, and excellent drainage is critical—this species is particularly sensitive to excess moisture. Water sparingly, waiting for the soil to fully dry before rewatering, and reduce to about once a month in winter. Cold hardiness is around 5°C; protect from frost. As a limestone native, it may benefit from slightly alkaline soil amendments.
