Ouhi Raijin Nishiki is the collective name for variegated plants of the dwarf agave 'Ouhi Raijin', which sources place under either A. potatorum or A. isthmensis. According to a Japanese plant guide, the variegation may be marginal, central, striped or nearly total, in white, yellow, lime or cream, and plants are sold under names such as 'white centre-stripe' or 'yellow centre-stripe'. A US specialist nursery describes the white-edged 'Ohi Raijin Fukurin Nishiki' as never exceeding about 15 cm across, with the white edge strongest on mature leaves, and the white-centred 'Ohi Raijin Shiro Nakafu' as a tight clump about 10 cm tall and wide that offsets from the leaf axils; both are described as collectors' plants. Some striped plants resemble the slimmer-leaved 'Yookihi', so look at leaf length and how tightly the rosette packs.
